Sunset Middle School Workshop
Extreme Measures had an amazing opportunity recently to not only perform form the students at Sunset Middle School, but also work with them and show them how awesome Collegiate A Cappella is!!! Certainty a day we all will remember for a long time!! In these videos you will get to see us teaching these kids not only how to sing these songs but also beat box. It is amazing to see how energetic we got, though so early in the morning. These kids rubbed off on us!

Vocal Percussion (Beat Boxing) Tutorial
One aspect of EM's Performances that everyone is always so fascinated about is the vocal percussion(beat boxing) during the song. The kids were very interested in learning how to beat box and jumped right in to learning. In this video our Vocal Percussionist Vincent Santiago teaches the students how to VP. Feel free to join in yourself and become a world class beat boxer!

Performing - "All These Things That I've Done" by The Killers
We decided to perform this song after having the Beat Boxing Workshop, this is one of our more heavy vocal percussion songs and these kids had a new found appreciation for what goes into an A Cappella song.

Teaching "Demons" by Guster
We separated all of the different parts and decided to instruct the students by just demonstration and repetition to teach them. It was incredible to see how fast these kids caught on and learned their part of the song!

Performing All Together!
After teaching the students their parts, we all joined together and sand the whole song through a couple times! All though shy on camera, these kids were rockin' it!

Performing - Ain' True
One of our more Madrigal Pieces, Ain' True is a beautiful song that we decided to sing to show them that while we love to sing the fun fast paced songs, the more choral style arrangements are fun too.

Performing - "I Want You Back" by the Jackson 5
Throughout the workshop we performed a few of our favorite songs.

Performing - "Accidentally in Love" by the Counting Crows
So one of the most exciting aspects about our group is that we all arrange the music for our group by ourselves, then teach the group right after. This song was recently just arranged by Vincent Santiago. It was the groups first time EVER performing it. It was a great opportunity to see what needs to be worked on. Regardless the kids(being Shrek fans) LOVED IT!

Performing(Finale) - "Take Your Mama" - by The Scissor Sisters
We ended our glorious day with these kids with a universal favorite of the groups. It was truly a pleasure working with these kids and hopefully encouraging them to continuing singing throughout their years in school and maybe even more!
