It's that wonderful time of year again - buying textbooks and school supplies, falling asleep on syllabus day, cleaning your room...*snore*..... but there is one thing you can look forward to: EXTREME MEASURES SPRING AUDITIONS!!!! We love them, you love them, everyone loves them. We can't wait to hear how talented and awesome all you auditionees will be, and we love recruiting new members! Make sure you stop by the UMC during the first 3 days of school to sign up for an audition slot WED-THUR 6-9PM. Auditionees can also walk-in untill 8PM on these days. If you know someone else who sings, let them know about our auditions, and that Extreme Measures is the coolest thing since polar bears. Get those vocal cords warmed up and ready to go! Keep it EXTREME, Chris Hey all! For those of you who are not yet aware - we have auditions tonight and tomorrow from 6-9pm in Hellems 255. We accept walk-ins, and ask that you have a verse and chorus of a song you are comfortable singing prepared. Please no musical theater songs, we want to hear YOUR voice, not a character's. Keep it EXTREME, Chris Hey Folks,
Hope everyone's having a fantastic summer! For those of you seeking to join Extreme Measures in the coming academic year, here's the low down: Extreme Measures auditions during the first week of every semester. The audition process includes a preliminary audition (range testing, recall, chords (ear test), 30 second solo) and a callback (Full solo, learn a song, see how candidates fit into the group). This year we're primarily looking for some super sopranos, but if you're not a girl, or a soprano, don't fret, 'cause we're always lookin' for someone with amazing pipes. Also, beat boxing and experience reading music are always a plus (but not mandatory). If you arrange music, that is awesome too, and a HUGE plus. We're pretty chill at EM, and its not uncommon for a first semester member to arrange songs and sing solos! With that in mind, get practicing! The amount of work that you can do to improve your voice from now 'till auditions could be the difference between making it or not! I mean, what else is summer for besides having a great time making music?!? Well that's all for today's TL;DR post. Looking forward to seeing all of you amazingly talented people at auditions! Keep it EXTREME, Chris |
